It is truly amazing to me
how loving God can be
through His mercies new each morning
it’s hard for me to see

how carefully He guides my day
to keep me in His way
for all the world to see His love
as my life comes to play
____
from a sinner who was a fool
where Satan had his rule
my heart ready for a life change
the cross became a tool
____
of an instrument of His love
me He was thinking of
needing mercy that He could give
finding grace from above
____
I cried, "O Lord forgive my ways
my heart so often strays."
but deep within I cry mercy
broken my spirit prays
____
and then You Lord came rushing in
mending my heart within
with the treasure of Your presence
no burden of my sin
____
I find mercy to be so pure
by faith I’m really sure
that Jesus is the source I cling
for mercy to endure
